Hello, I've noticed multiple EX4400-48MP switches that once they have an active copper link the remaining ports without anything connected very lightly flash the activity LED green randomly.  Multiple SW levels (23.4R2 & 24.2R1 ) and whether the ports are disabled or not makes no difference. Anyone else notice this? Its not easy to notice unless light levels are low or your paying close attention. Some switches seem to flash brighter that others.

Not directly this, but we had a worse issue: Active 10G ports (to a lab of Dell Workstations) and after a few months, the ports stop passing packets, and the link light stays lit, even when we repatch the device to a different port! Only workaround is a reboot of the member switch or the full VC.

However, when we opened a JTAC case, they mentioned your issue with the phantom lights! They did have up upgrade to the currently recommended "Latest Junos 23.4R2-Sx" and no fix so far, but we are waiting to see if it recurs.

I upgraded to the latest Junos SR as well as upgraded the Firmware but the issue persists. All of ours are doing it so it must be normal behavior.

    Hi

Have you tried rebooting the device and see if it helps? is there any impact on the device functionality?   There is a similar behavior on this PR https://prsearch.juniper.net/problemreport/PR1662288

You could validate led activity with <show chassis led> , please open a case with JTAC for further investigation.

    Regards.

No impact on device functionality so far. The show chassis LED doesn't show them as on. They just flicker briefly even if nothing attached. Every EX4400MP we've deployed that has an active copper connection is doing it. I'm assuming the phantom lights are normal behavior at this point.
