I have 4 x EX2300-24P's in a building. 3 of them are behaving perfectly, but one is doing something annoying. If I issue a reboot command via CLI or within J-Web, the switch does go through the motions of 60 and 30 seconds warnings before rebooting and watching the CLI port it seems business as usual only it doesn't ever make it to normal operation. It ends up at a login prompt and from the CLI appears to working fine but the front panel is dead apart from a slowing flashing SYS LED. It will let me login and again its seems pretty "normal" only it isn't switching any packets and the SYS light indicates it hasn't finished booting. If I reboot it, it does so but returns to same scenario. If I pull the power plug for 30 seconds, it boots up fine and after the standard boot-up period (why do Juniper switches take an eternity to boot?) kicks back into life perfectly as if nothing has happened. I have tried different firmware versions doing a SFTP CLI upgrade/downgrade and via USB install and every time same thing. Versions I have tried are 23.4R2-S4.11 (current Juniper recommended version) , 21.2R3.8 , 21.4R3.15 and 23.2R2-S3 , v23.4R2.13 and 24.2R2.18 all with the same outcome. Importantly, none of the other 3 exhibit this quirk. I even tried swapping the offender with another's location in case it was something environmental near it's rack or dodgy mains out of it's UPS causing it but it misbehaves no matter where I put it with same pattern, a power cycle brings it online fine, a reboot leaves it hanging after restart. Has anyone else experienced EX2300's that effectively hang after a reboot command but work fine after a power cycle? Any feedback most welcome, thanks.
