I have 6 new EX-4000 switches that were just installed. They have the same config that all EX switches have via a template. Individual switch models just get a few extra CLI commands in the template or on the switches' Mist configuration page directly.
I have just noticed that if I use the command "show configuration | match mge-0/012 " , which is a port with an AP on it, I get a blank line as the response. Adding the " display inheritance " doesn't add anything to the output. I could not get a pair of APs to dynamically get their port to be assigned to the proper VLAN and I had to manually apply it to those ports with a profile. I tried the same commands on random other ports with devices and got the same result. Nothing. I tried the command on a EX 2300 or EX4100 switch and received the config that was applied to ports. I then checked out what Mist was reporting, and on the switch that I manually added the AP vlan to, the config on the dashboard, when you float the mouse over the port showed the correct data. On another 4000, I checked the Mist config the same way and the APs have the correct IP, but the port config displayed the default VLAN still. I did not manually assign the AP profile on those ports.
So, it appears Mist is not reading the EX-4000s correctly and the EX-4000s don't respond properly to the "show configuration | display set | match <interface name>" cli command. I guess it could be the software version of the switch rather than EX4000s in general.
Has anyone else run into this?
