You are correct in the general assumption that some characteristics of the path restriction was not met bringing the CSPF failure. The process is outlined in this section of the documentation.

Subject: CSPF Computation Failed
Hello,
What does CSPF computation failed means? My LSP has been flapping lately and this is what I keep encountering in the log, LSP goes down for about 20 to 45 seconds before its back up. It happens from time to time been trying to find more information but is very limited so far. To my understanding the CSPF performs link examination, and it will reject links that do not match constraints or configured policy.
This makes me believe whenever the CSPF does the computation from time to time the constraints are not met causing the link to be rejected and when it meets the constraints it brings it back up. Could I be right? or it does not work like this?
I will appreciate the help understanding if this could cause my LSP to flap.
Thank you!
