Hi, we have flex software version on our P router.
I am wondering if we can go to 23.4R2-S5.8 without USB but with regular procedure:
request system software add /var/tmp/jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64-23.4R2-S5.8-secure-signed.tgz force-host reboot

    ?

    routerP13> show version

«Flex» is both the current licensing model, AND the old name of the «Junos OS with Enhanced Automation» (which is your case here).

Overview of Junos Automation Enhancements on Devices Running Junos OS with Enhanced Automation

This software bundle is identical to the other software bundle except that Veriexec is disabled, which enables you to run unsigned programs, such as programs that you develop with Python, Chef, and Puppet.

Therefore you can use regular procedure with normal junos updates, or you can use the «enhanced automation blahblah» one as well (no need for the automation stuff if you don't use your own automation programs on it).
