Came across a situation where we had to set a preference for the DF to be elected since both the members in then esi were blocking the BUM traffic

    Came across a situation where we had to set a preference for the DF to be elected since both the members in then esi were blocking the BUM traffic. Has anyone gotten in that situation where both the PE thought they were the designated forwarder. Once the preference was set, we were able to set the back and the DF. The Routing instance type is Virtual switch, i have'nt seen that before.  Can someone explain why this would occur.
