  • 1.  Automatic switchover to backup link between 2 switches.

    Hello,

    Let's start with a very simple configuration:  2  EX-2300 switches linked with a ethernet cable "A" on their ports ge-0/0/11

    Is it possible to run another ethernet cable "B" between the same switches on their ports ge-0/0/10  and configure it so that ports connected to cable "B" are down and will only go up when cable "A" is disconnected and their ports go down ?

    And obviously, I want traffic to go back to cable "A" when it's connected back and the ports are up again ?

    Kind of a LACP but with the load always on one cable ?

     U can use RTG or LACP active-passive.

    I did not know RTG – seems to be what I need. I'll give it a shot and keep  you posted.
