Subject: ARP on STP
Actually, arp-on-stp seems to be an obsolete feature available for old 802.1d/Old_And_Slow_spanning_tree on old EX2200/3300/4200 (non-ELS) switches, where each stp recomputation triggers slow timers and LISTEN/LEARN states, where your traffic is not flowing.
One should just not run old stp in 2025: rstp has been the minimum way to go for 20 years (much faster, this arp-on-stp feature is not available since it would be useless).

arp-on-stp
I would like to try to learn more information about arp-on-stp .
My first thoughts are that it seems to get along with the ip protocol. Of course we are talking about tcpip, but I have always generally thought that extra arp stuff is not always good. I have read that stp and ctf(not srx juniper) are not great with each other.
What I want to know is if anyone has used this statement, good or bad?
I want to know because I have entered it in the system, but I haven't committed it, because of apprehension.
Security is a major concern.
Sparse traffic can always be strengthened.
