  • 1.  License needed for PPTP on SRX

    Hello Guys,

    I need your help regard VPN connections on SRX.
    1. Is a license needed for PPTP connections?
    2. If i want ipsec site to site VPN for 6 connections, i must purchase licenses for 5 user (because 2 are free licenses)?

    You don't need a license for PPTP VPNs.

     

    Also, the VPN license is only for dynamic (SSL and NCP client) VPNs.  If you are doing site to site, no additional license is required.

    Hi Rseibert, thanks for your reply.
    So it means only SSL need VPN license , PPTP/IPsec don't need license.

    I don't believe that the SRX platform supports PPTP at all.

    Agree with JonesyComau here.  The SRX cannot terminate a pptp vpn only ipsec or ssl vpn.

     

    You can pass through the SRX via policy and/or destination nat to a pptp server.  And that will not require any licensing.
