    Hi.
I am using the vlabs to test some BGP configurations and am confused with something very basic.  I am currently using the topology below and am logging in to vMX1 and trying to ping the ips that are configured on VMX 2 and 3.  I then try to disable the connections by clicking on the links and seleting disable, which turns the solid line to a dotted line. I did this to both connections from vMX1.  The weird thing is that I am still able to ping the ips configured on vMX2 and 3 (10.100.12.2 and 10.100.13.2) Is there something that I am missing here?  I have noticed this behavior in other topologies with Vlabs as well and also the ability to ping a typo when entering an ip (I was supposedly pinging 80.0.1).

I don't see how I am pinging if the cables are disconnected.  Any help greatly appreciated.

    Ben

Maybe there is a mgmt network allowing access to all the devices.

Can you run a trace route to see the path?

    Thanks for responding.
I do a traceroute that shows no hops. It seems that the router I'm consoled into is the one responding.  Basically im learning how to use vlabs as a tool and some unexpected quirks that i now am aware of
