vSRX

I'm trying to create a vSRX sandbox. Attempted to do this in Virtualbox but it's just not recognising any interfaces. I'm trying to create a master/slave clone of our live environment in a cluster so I can try and update the firmware. Previously I've been told you need to break the cluster to update firmware so I want to test this out for myself.

Does anybody know the correct settings for me to do this with VMWare instead? I'm using the following file 'media-vsrx-vmdisk-15.1X49-D70.3.ide.ova'. I need this to replicate a physical link just like our real SRX firewalls. Once I have this setup as a sandbox I'm sure I will be fine with creating the cluster.

I've previously tried to use this video which is for Virtualbox but everything I've read online says the file I'm using isn't compatible with Virtualbox. I've copied his settings exact.

I am fairly new to Juniper so if possible please dumb down responses!

    Hi,

    - wrt "Previously I've been told you need to break the cluster to update firmware " there is https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB17947

    - wrt to VirtualBox issue: I have no knowledge

    - wrt to VMware issue: What exactly is happening from the point forward at which you specify that .ova and what's not working on the vSRX?

    Regards

    Ulf
