  • 1.  SRX220H2 upgrading fails

    Posted 03-21-2018 03:18

    Hi there,

I'm trying to upgrade my SRX220H2 to lattes firmware version:

    12.3X48-D65

    Actually I have:

    --- JUNOS 12.1X46-D72.2 built 2017-12-23 09:11:03 UTC

During the progress of the processing I've got that the:

platform srx220h for 12.1X47 and higher is not supported.

I've the same hardware and chassis cluster in the other localization:

There I've upgraded cluster successfully but in two steps:

    1. upgrade to 12.1x46-d65.4

    1. then upgrade to 12.3x48-d65.1.

Why it's not working for upgrade from 12.1X46-D72.2 ?

It may not upgrade from all, this is known bug tracked by via PR#987067

    https://prsearch.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=prcontent&id=PR987067

I would perhaps try with a no-validate knob (request system software add /var/tmp/image.tgz no-validate). though you should follow this tsb: https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=tsb16646&actp=METADATA&act=login

    Juniper had similar issue before.

As a work around you can install 12.3X48-D10 first.

    Hi,
Forget about it. This is cluster of the srx220H instead of srx220H2.
I've noticed it during comparison output :

    show chassis routing-engine

    Routing Engine status:
        Temperature                 49 degrees C / 120 degrees F
Total memory              1024 MB Max   666 MB used ( 65 percent)
Control plane memory     544 MB Max   419 MB used ( 77 percent)
Data plane memory        480 MB Max   250 MB used ( 52 percent)
        CPU utilization:
          User                       7 percent
          Background                 0 percent
          Kernel                    15 percent
          Interrupt                  0 percent
          Idle                      78 percent
        Model                          RE-SRX220H
        Serial ID                      AAFTxxxx
        Start time                     2018-03-22 01:24:29 CET
        Uptime                         44 minutes, 13 seconds
        Last reboot reason             0x200:normal shutdown
Load averages:                 1 minute   5 minute  15 minute
                                           0.20       0.42       0.69

Total memory 1024 mb and symbol is 220h instead of 220h2 like on the second localization:

    Routing Engine status:
        Temperature                 52 degrees C / 125 degrees F
Total memory              2048 MB Max   860 MB used ( 42 percent)
Control plane memory    1072 MB Max   461 MB used ( 43 percent)
Data plane memory        976 MB Max   400 MB used ( 41 percent)
        CPU utilization:
          User                      19 percent
          Background                 0 percent
          Kernel                    23 percent
          Interrupt                  2 percent
          Idle                      55 percent
        Model                          RE-SRX220H2
        Serial ID                      ACKDxxxx
        Start time                     2018-03-21 01:22:40 CET
        Uptime                         1 day, 47 minutes, 39 seconds
        Last reboot reason             0x200:normal shutdown
Load averages:                 1 minute   5 minute  15 minute
                                           0.72       0.67       0.65
