SRX

I'm going to make a BOM for SRX345 with some security features on board, but I've some problem to combine correctly every SKU needed.

 

For example I need:

- AppSecure

- Juniper SkyATP

- Antivirus

 

...and is not clear if I have to:

- Included JSE (with app secure features) and add just SkyATP with bundle of "main Office Content Security" for receive also AV:

  JSE + SRX345-ATP-1 + SRX345-CS-BUN-1

....or...

- Included JSE (with app secure feature) and add the ATP bundle that it seems include everithing BESIDE anti-malware?! 😐

But antimalware seems to be no purchased without bundle.... and then?! 🙂

....or....

- Included normal JSB, but with bundle add other features as below.

 

BTW at the end, seems that each one confitct with the others...

AppSecure is the only function you can buy as a perpetual license by ordering your SRX with JSE software. The rest is subscription based.

 

If you intend to have subscriptions for Antimalware etc. then just stick with JSB software as AppSecure is included in the subscription.

Recently a combination SKU for CS-BUN + ATP has arrived: ATP-BUN. This is a combination of CS-BUN + ATP with a more attractive price 🙂

 

Example BOM with AV-scanning, and URL-filtering but no Sky ATP:

1 x SRX345-SYS-JB

1 x SRX345-CS-BUN-1 (or -3/-5 for 3/5 years)

 

Example BOM with AV-scanning, URL-filtering and Sky ATP:

1 x SRX345-SYS-JB

1 x SRX345-ATP-BUN-1 (or -3/-5 for 3/5 years)

Then... if someone need me only app secure, the cheaper way is to buy only JSE. Correct!?
If I need something else, JSB + bundle is the choice...

Seems btw strange right now the real add value of the JSE itself.

Yes - if the customer only needs the AppSecure featureset (including ssl forward proxy) you can skip the subscription licenses and only buy the JSE license. If you more than this, just go for JSB + subscriptions.

 

Today there is limited value in the JSE offering. At the initial launch, you needed JSE to use all the MPLS features which made it a differentiator... but rather short after release, MPLS was moved back into the JSB featureset leaving only AppSecure.

 

For an MSP/ISP JSE can make sense offering the AppSecure portfolio as a service including QoS based on applications or simply just route based on applications without going into the deeper UTM/NGFW features.

 

In fact, completely agree.

For this reason that in my mind born confusion about the usefull use of JSE...
