    I have the following topology:

In my understanding, I have three options to lag the leaf node.
    1.  configured two spines to be a virtual chassis
    2.  connect two spines via EVPN/vXLAN
    3. MC-LAG

Anyone can coach me what are the pros and cons for each of them.  Or they are not all selective ?

    thanks a lot !!

    Hi,

    1.) VC = active/backup RE
2.) EVPN = active/active but need more knowledge
    3.) MC-LAG = active/active but need more knowledge.

The main point here what u want to design? Is it just small network enterprise or DC? U dont need do EVPN-VXLAN if your network is small.

    Thanks

    thanks a lot !!

We use some VC for not critical networks. But we had a couple of times stuck with VC issues.  It took a long time to recover some of members. So almost give up with VC.
I like to know what benefits from MC-LAG over VC.
My first preference is EVPN/vXLAN, as it is L3 approach.

I like to hear any real life experiences with these technology. We are currently using both VC and EVPN, not MC-LAG yet.

    Hi,

Previously i have implement MC-LAG in two different scenario. IGW and DC environment.

On MC-LAG to prevent split brain then u need OOB as backup live detection. Also on MC-LAG u will need to to event script to clear arp especially when the other device use virtual ip method such as SRX Cluster.

    Thanks

    thanks a lot !!

To me, MC-LAG adds lots of complexity, right ?

    Hi,
If u ask me the complexity sequence as below.

    1.) VC - not complex
    2.) MC-LAG - medium
    3.) EVPN-VXLAN - complex
