    Hi
In some MPCs, we have a mandate which is called "Enhanced-IP" mode.  The documentation about this mode is somehow confusing.
    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/chassis/topics/topic-map/chassis-guide-tm-config-ntwrk-srvics-mode.html

Would you please explain to me what is this mode exactly,  will we lose something if we use this mode?
I believe it is something like the SDM concept in Some Cisco Switches which assigns resources to certain items.
Thank you for your help and support

Short version is Juniper recommends that you turn on enhanced ip mode wherever it is supported.  This enables all newer card features.

There are two different things going on in mode.

First is the selection between ethernet and IP mode, this is just like it sounds is the device primarily ethernet services or full layer 3.  Current recommendation by Juniper is to deploy IP mode.

Second is whether to use enhanced ethernet or enhanced IP.  This is driven by whether or not you have older line cards in the device.  If the device has older line cards that do not support enhanced mode then it should not be enabled.  If all the the cards do support enhanced then it should be turned on to utilize all the card features.
