  • 1.  Difference between S-MPC-3D-VQ-ADV-R & S-MPC-3D-PQ-ADV-R Licenses

    Hi

    According to following Link:

    We have these two licenses for MPC of MX:

    1- S-MPC-3D-VQ-ADV-R

    2- S-MPC-3D-PQ-ADV-R

    from description, it seems the first one can cover the second one. Is it is assumption correct? So we need to get the first one only per MPC on the Chassis.Right?

    It depends at bit which MPC you have in mind - but your general assumption is right. -VQ includes -PQ.

     

    But let us know which MPC you have and corresponding licenses, then we can help you validate - or you can reach out to your local Juniper partner who should be able to help you as well.

    Hi

    I have a setup with both MPC7E-10G(40x10GE) and MPC10E-C-MRATE(10x100GE)

    Do I need to purchase license for both types? and VQ ro PQ?

    The VQ license will only be needed on the MPC7E MPC as MPC10 has the VQ license included in both the advanced and premium tier subscription.

     

    PQ should be included with the base SKU (port based queuing) where you need the license to do per-vlan based queuing (different queues on same physical port).

    Based on What you said:

    I need MPC7E-10G-RB with S-MPC-3D-VQ-ADV-R license and MPC10E-C-MRATE with S-MX-10C-P1-P to have full Layer-2 and Layer-3 functionalities and features.

    Is this correct?

    Actually, if you haven't bought the MPC7 yet, you can buy it as one combined SKU: MPC7EQ-10G-RB.

     

    If you have the MPC7E-10G-RB already, you need to order this license on top: S-MPC7EQ-10G.

     

    The MPC10 BOM looks like this:

     

    MPC10E-10C-P-BASE

    S-MX-10C-P1-P

    + support:

    SVC-COR-MX-10C-P1P

    SVC-COR-MPC10E10C (or CP/ND/SD depending on your needs)
