  • 1.  Install Unix Package

    Hi Guys ,

     

    does Juniper device has restriction on package that could be installed,  I am trying to install Netcat but I get always an error, I am not sure if the error is related to the package :

     

    # /usr/sbin/pkg add netcat-1.10_3.txz
    usage: /usr/sbin/pkg add <pkg> ...
    where <pkg> is a compressed tar file

    The package system is not intended for users to install third party applications. It's used when adding Juniper specific packages or doing software upgrade of Junos itself - so no way of installing eg. netcat on a Juniper device.
