  • 1.  upgrade junos MX960 = the RE0 Board fails (perhaps the SSD fails)

    Hello, 

    I have a problem with Junos update , maybe someone can help me

    I'm upgrading MX960 with 12.3R5.7 to 16.1R7-S3 use USB media file.
    RE1 (backup) successfully updated, but after request chassis routing-engine master switch
    MX have alarms

    Compact Flash

    boot only mode "OK" and re1 (master) does not see re0(backup)

    RE0 cannot update using usb media

    RE0 boot only usb snapshot (with RE1),

    how to solve this problem ?

    Disk0 on RE0 is having error.

    The device has booted from secondary disk.

    Try this to take a snapshot from secondary to primary disk.

    request vmhost snapshot recovery

     

    recovery(Optional) Recover the primary disk from the snapshot content stored in the backup disk. This option is applicable only when the Routing engine is booted from backup disk. Contents in the primary disk are lost.

    validation Request route validation actions
    virtual-chassis Perform virtual-chassis specific operations
    vpls-switchover Perform LDP VPLS pseudowire switchover
