    Posted 03-31-2019 12:25

    Hello,

    I have a Virtual Chassis with 2 QFX 5100

For the moment i have the version 13.2X51-D10.6

I try to upgrade to version: jinstall-host-qfx-5-17.3R3.10-signed.tgz

    I launch the upgrade:

request system software add no-validate no-copy /var/tmp/jinstall-host-qfx-5-17.3R3.10-signed.tgz reboot

Retrieving software images. This process can take several minutes. Please be patient..

Retrieving version and model information from /var/tmp/jinstall-host-qfx-5-17.3R3.10-signed.tgz

    Two suggestions:

    1. Redownload 17.3 — I think the messages you are getting indicate a corrupt install package

    2. I don’t think 13->17 is supported. Upgrade to latest 14 first, then to 17.3

    try this command before upgrade

    request system storage cleanup all-members

    Hello,

I have ever done this action 😞

Perform a recovery installation, then you do not need to jump to intermediate releases:

    https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB32359

ACX5000 and QFX5100 procedure is the same.

It looks like maybe you are low on space on fpc1 /var/tmp. If 'request system storage cleanup' doesn't free it up you can log directly into that member and remove those files

    request session member 1

    start shell

    cd /var/tmp

    ls -la

  • 10.  RE: QFX 5100 UPGRADE not enough space

    Posted 04-02-2019 07:35

Yes because i have the .tgz for the update in /var/tmp

    So it's "normal"

Maybe i can do it by FTP ?

You don't need to copy the installer packages to member 1, the upgrade process pushes its own copy. I would clear out /var/tmp on member 1 and rerun the installer again from member 0 (master).

From the storage report it looks like you have a 14.1 installer sitting in fpc0 (master) /var/tmp and a 14.1 and 17.3 installer on fpc1.

    That's really odd.

    Pushing installation package to host...
rcp: /var/run/./vjunos-install.sh: No space left on device

I'm totally guessing here but are you able perhaps to successfully install a later version of 13 and upgrade that to 14? The version you're running is the very first release for that hardware and could have some upgrade bugs.

Junos 13 is past end of support.  To get those files you will need to open a ticket on the support portal and they can be provided offline.

Do you have this config set system internet-options no-tcp-reset drop-all-tcp.

IF yes then try removing it and attempt the upgrade
