Hello, I have an MX5 where the configuration of interfaces and also "system ports" were deleted.

Even with reboot of the box, we were unable to connect via console, there is no return on the console port (I tested on another router the console cable is fine)

Is there any way to reset the RE, or even rewrite the forced TFTP type firmware?

    Hi,

    - can you please walk us through the exact sequence of events? Deleting parts or even all of the config shouldn't render the console port "dead"?

    - did you try the console cable on another JUNOS device? I've truly seen console cable work with some devices but not with others.

    - "" is probably right: If the console is literally dead (not input or output) then there isn't much that can be done. So you probably either want to:

    - RMA the box or

    - try to get it to boot from a USB stick prepared with an JUNOS disk image: https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB27369 / https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos/topics/topic-map/recovery-using-emergency-boot.html

    Regards
