  • 1.  no virtual FPC in vFP created in openstack

    Posted 11-28-2017 02:15

I created a vMX with version of R17.3 in openstack enviornment. However I won't be able to get virtual FPC even after I wait for long time and applied a trial licence of 60 days. I didn't find any clue to troubleshoot the problem. Can anyone provide a suggestion for troubleshooting? Thanks!

Were you able to resolve this? I am facing the exact same issue with a vMX 17.3 running on RHEL Openstack. I have the ping working between the VFP and VCP and show chassis hardware does not have any entry for FPC.

It was resolved. The root cause is mtu, which blocked vFPC to scp files from vRE when starting up. It could be observed in syslog on vFPC. The solution is to increase MTU including physical MTU and path MTU in OpenStack.

    #command executed in vFPC

    rcp root@$RE_IP:$PFE_SRC/mpcsd_lnx $PFE_SRC/mpcsd
