    Hi everybody,

I am new to segement routig on vMX.

Let's say we have vMX using segment routig with North Start controller.  On vMX, we are using sensors for physical interface, logical interface and LSP, the stats( interface delay, LSP delay, BW utilization) are sent to North Star collector. Using these stats, North star can make intelligent decsion to optimize LSP.

    I have some questions:

    1) How does vMX, using Sensor,  determine interface delay stats ( which is then sent to North Star controller)?

Thanks and have a good night!!

    Hello,

You need to run RPM or TWAMP on Your routers to measure delay.

AFAIK, Northstar does not support TWAMP or RPM measurement results ingest via Telemetry so You need to use SLAX script on the routers to feed RPM measurements to Northstar via syslog.

    Please see https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/northstar6.0.0/information-products/pathway-pages/northstar-controller-user-guide.pdf  pages 421, 497

If You want to feed TWAMP measurement results to Northstar then You need to modify rpm-log.slax script Yourself.

    Thx
