Excess Bandwidth Sharing in H-QOS

    Hi.

I had a question about excess bandwidth sharing in H-QOS.

Let's say I have the following bandwidth defined.

    LEVEL 1 NODE:

    Shaping Rate 200Mbps

    LEVEL 2 NODE:

Interface Set A: Shaping Rate: 200Mbps

Interface Set B: Shaping Rate: 200Mbps, Guaranteed Rate: 40Mbps

So in the LEVEL 2 NODE, Interface Set A does not have a Guaranteed Rate configured, so gets a Guaranteed Rate of 0Mbps.

    The excess bandwidth available to the Level 2 Node = Level 1 Shaping Rate – Level 2 Guaranteed Rate = 200Mbps – 40Mbps = 160Mbps

I read that since Interface Set B has a Guaranteed Rate configured, the whole port operates in CIR mode, which means Interface Sets A and B will share the excess bandwidth of 160Mbps in proportion to their Guaranteed Rates. But in this case, Interface Set A doesn't have a configured Guaranteed Rate.

So how is the excess bandwidth of 160Mbps shared between Interface Sets A and B of the LEVEL 2 NODE?

    Thanks,

    Deepak
