  • 1.  how to identify the routes from OSPF non-backbone areas on an ABR ?

    Posted 03-14-2021 11:46

How can I find quickly all the prefixes advertised to Area 0  from Area 1 on R2 ?  I need to configure an appropriate aggregate route on R2.  I have many routers in Area 1.

root@vMX-2# run show ospf database netsummary

Area 0.0.0.1 shows all networks sending into area 1 from area 0. I do not understand area 0.0.0.0 section.  should I expect to see all the routes from Area 0.0.0.1 to Area 0.0.0.0 ?

    thanks a lot !!

Based on how advertisement rules are in OSPF, you have area 1 connected to area 0 in this case, so you should expect full prefix distribution throughout the OSPF domain. Area 0 prefixes should be seen in area 1 and vice versa.

I am just trying to get prepared if I am asked to aggregate certain prefixes from certain areas.
