    Hello,

the "4" is the encapsulation type. 4 means Ethernet:

encapsulation type-Type of encapsulation, represented by a number: (1) Frame Relay DLCI, (2) ATM AAL5 VCC transport, (3) ATM transparent cell transport, (4) Ethernet, (5) VLAN Ethernet, (6) HDLC, (7) PPP, (8) ATM VCC cell transport, (10) ATM VPC cell transport.

It's referring to the Pseudowire Type. Nowadays you'll almost always only see 4 for tagged ethernet, or 5 for pure ethernet (which means that either there's no tag, or the tag is considered part of the payload, so the one pseudowire can carry all VLANs).

You can see the full list of pseudowire types here: https://www.iana.org/assignments/pwe3-parameters/pwe3-parameters.xhtml#pwe3-parameters-2
