    Hi team,

I have 2 routers, peering with CPEs, I have configured remove-private replace nearest on both the routers, however one router replaces 4-byte ASN, other does not(although it replaces 2 byte Private ASN properly). only difference I notice is in the versions of two routers.

The one which replaces 4-byte ASN is on

    Model: mx104
    Junos: 16.2R2.8
    JUNOS Base OS boot [16.2R2.8]

the one which does not is on

    Model: mx104
    JUNOS Base OS boot [13.2R3.7]

    config

set routing-instances xxx protocols bgp group xxx neighbor x.x.x.x remove-private all replace nearest
set routing-instances xxx protocols bgp group xxx neighbor x.x.x.x local-as yyyy
set routing-instances xxx protocols bgp group xxx neighbor x.x.x.x local-as private

is it related to OS versions?

    Hello salishete,

as it works with JUNOS 16.2, it is possible that there is some malfunction with JUNOS 13.2. Do you have the possibilty to upgrade the older MX104 to a newer firmware to check this? 13.2 is really old already, it is maybe even one of the first releases available for MX104 at all.
