    According to above link, for configuring Kompella draft of l2vpn  it is said to configure vrf-export, vrf-import policy(Mandatory). My question is why it is necessary to configure export import policy ? Why not  go for export target:2000:59856 format for exporting  routes ?

    It is not manadatory to configure vrf export/import policies in the given example as it uses only one community for export and import. You may use vrf-target statement or vrf import/export policies.  Please refer below mentione URL for example:
