Hi all, I'm so confused about suffixes system id on protocol isis. When I show "show isis database"user@host> show isis database
user@host> show isis database
IS-IS level 1 link-state database:
LSP ID Sequence Checksum Lifetime Attributes
kobuk.00-00 0x3 0x3167 1057 L1 L2
camaro.00-00 0x5 0x770e 1091 L1 L2
ranier.00-00 0x4 0xaa95 1091 L1 L2
glacier.00-00 0x4 0x206f 1089 L1 L2
glacier.02-00 0x1 0xd141 1089 L1 L2
badlands.00-00 0x3 0x87a2 1093 L1 L2
What is different between glacier.00-00 and glacier.02-00 and what functions of 2 system-id?Sometimes, I see that suffixes on protocol ISIS can be 03-00. Thanks a lot.
glacier.02-00 - designated intermediate system (DIS)
For each LAN segment there should be a DIS. Except 00-00 all LSPs in the "show isis database" whether 02-00, 03-00 or 04-00 are generated by Designated Intermediate System (DIS).
Please mark my solution as accepted if it helped.
The pseudo-node (handled by the DIS) also advertises it's LSP.
glacier.00-00 = glacier LSP
glacier.02-00 = pseudo-node LSP
Thank all, I understood. 🙂
