  • 1.  Contrail Command power down instances

    Posted 10-01-2020 04:33

    Hi all,
Recently we were able to boot some VM instances on contrail command. We were wondering if there was way to maybe put them to sleep when they arent needed though. For example, make the green light orange (if orange meant sleep)
EDIT: also is there a way to expand the window of the cli when booting a vSRX from an instance. the window is so small in the url, and u cant scroll up either
    Thanks in advance!

You can do that from the openstack UI. Use the below url to launch it

    http://<openstack-controller-ip>/auth

    Hi Ashish,
Please see attached screenshot, any idea why this happens?

Also, we are trying to boot a vSRX as an instance, however it fails after trying to set itself up after about 10mins (goes black). We used a flavor with 2vCPUS, 40GB disk, 4GB ram. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help!

Which contrail version are you using ? Is it 2005 ?

Can you add project/instances/ to your openstack url and see the results ?

Kindly refer below url for details about the flavor for vSRX

I believe it's 1911. How can i check for sure?
Also added project/instances to the url but the same result as the screenshot.

I made progress with the vSRX. However the 'cli' command doesn't work, logged in as root. And it keeps outputting errors (see attached screenshot). Also, is there any way to scroll, or enlarge the vSRX cli.

    Appreciate all the help Ashish

You can identify the contrail version from the tag that you used to install the command and launch contrail. On SRX issue can you provide me details of the flavor and image that you are using to bring up the vSRX instance ?
