  • 1.  EX8208 Disable VC

    Hi All--

I bought a used EX8208 to test some cos configurations and I'm having a hard time getting it out of VC mode, which I think may be preventing the line cards from coming up properly.

It is currently coming up as a linecard, even with no virtual-chassis config in place. If I configure for virtual-chassis as master it comes up but the chassis linecards don't appear to be initializing fully, not displaying any PICs.

I've deleted /config/vchassis and I've done a format --install from the boot loader but i'm still showing virtual chassis mode enabled and linecard status. Any idea how to completely eradicate this?

    --Paul

Okay, I downgraded to 9.6R3 -- no chance of virtual chassis there Smiley Wink

My linecards are now fully up. Will see what happens after upgrading back to 12 or 15.

And after upgrading to 12.3 the behavior is back--linecard status.

Configuring as single-member VC lets it become a master, but chassis linecards are still showing no PICs.
