    Hi Andrea,

I can understand from the snapshot that you are trying to add the E1000 network adaptor to the machine.

Please power off the vSRX and add networks adaptor as VMXNET3 and test of the interfaces are visible or not. First adaptor will automatically will get assigned to Fxp0 ,so you can add mutliple to adaptor for getting ge-0/0/x interfaces on the device.

Also refer the below mentioned link for underlying HW requriements of vSRX deployement on vmware and KVM:

    http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/vsrx15.1x49/topics/reference/general/security-vsrx-system-requirement-with-kvm.html

if this does not work then provide me with the output of "show chassis fpc pic-status"

    Regards,

    Rishi

    Hello,

vSRX1.0 supports E1000 adapters. Only from vSRX2.0 onwards we recommend using VMXNET3 or SRIOV.

Are you trying to run vSRX1.0 through Fusion?

If yes, as Rishi pointed out, can you share output of 'show chassis fpc pic-status'?

i solved the problem! the problem wasn't the interface type, but the few system resources that i gave to my virtual machine. i read the document about the system requirement for vSRX linked by Rsurana. i gave it one vCPU and 2GB ram memory. it wasn't enough.. currently my virtual machine has 2 vCPU, 4GB ram memory, and 8 e1000 network adapters. with these settings my virtual SRX works. for a simple gns3 lab these settings seems too heavy for me.. but, it's ok.. the important thing is that it works 🙂 thanks you guys!

.. First adaptor will automatically will get assigned to Fxp0 ,so you can add mutliple to adaptor for getting ge-0/0/x interfaces on the device..

now that my vSRX works, i can check my virtual interfaces, but where is my management interface? why i don't see it in the "show interfaces terse" output?

    Hello,

ge-0/0/0 is used as a management interface on vSRX1 i.e. firefly perimeter on standalone vSRX.

On cluster or on vSRX2.0 (with or without cluster) you will see fxp0 for management.

    Hi guys,

well i am facing the same issue the difference is that i am using UNL instead of GNS3

i am using the vSRX  version :

    root> show version
    Model: vsrx
    Junos: 17.3R1.10
    JUNOS Software Release [17.3R1.10]

    root> show chassis fpc pic-status
    Slot 0 Present FPC

i checked your comment and honestly i could  not play with the adapter etc. as it seems i don't have this option within UNL.

can you please advice or help with this ?

    highly appreciated

    BR

Make sure the adapters are set to VMXMET3  if they are grayed out then remove the network adapter and readd changing them to VMXMET3 at that time.  When you run the "show chassis fpc pic-status" command it should show online not just present.  If it stays present for a long time (over 20 mins) then try reseting slot 0.  They line up as mentioned previously with fxp0 as the mgmt then when clustered it goes:

    fxp0 -mgmt

    em0 - (HA-Control)

    ge-0/0/0 - fab0 (HA-Fab)

ge-0/0/1 - first usable for reth or whatever
